Respeito (Respect): Sarah Frost's "Arsenal"

The entire Gun Registry is represented here it seems...

This image was just visually arresting, I love artistic pieces like this that do nothing more than beg a hearty discussion upon leaving such an exhibit.  Sarah Frost manages to capture the fascination we as a modern society seem to have with guns.

"P.P.O.W will host Sarah Frost’s first solo exhibition from April 14 to May 14, 2011 in New York City. Frost’s installations focus on a new found interest in paper gun making – the artist having recently discovered an online community of paper craftsmen (mostly boys) through Youtube. With this basis, Frost creates environments that fully immerse the viewer in her monumental arsenal."

Thoroughly engrossing,  this exhibit is a definite must-see especially because the intricate, realistic guns were actually made with paper! Its almost as if they seem like they are made of cold steel with a hot temper buried deep inside.  I love how they are suspended their too in organized chaos.  I mean in a time when we can't seem to avoid going to war this exhibit is highly relevant.

What are your thoughts on the images?
