Toronto's "United We Sole" Event
Toronto Loves Kicks' "United We Sole" event was definitely a success. Check out my photo coverage of the event at Sneaker Freaker.
Here's the lowdown on the day via Dion of Toronto Loves Kicks:
"This sneaker convention brought in over 1200 people from around the City and abroad and created a lane that was much needed in Toronto. You had your choice of Foamposites, Wolf Grey's, Ragging Bull pack, Air Max 95's, Air Force One's customized personally for TLK courtesy of Anthony Armenta. Clothing lines included Nothin', Doinitwell, TheONE and Ambush Apparel helped along side exclusive Snap Backs to literally set the ATM on fire. That's just to name a few of the heat that you could have expected to see.
Throughout the event there were giveaways by the hour, plenty of photo's being taken by the TLK back drop as everyone was "sneakergenic". We had live performances by JRDN, Church Chizzle - MuchMusic's Rap City freestyle battle champion and Gee Wunder to name a few of the talent within the community. In addition, we had DJ Tabs and Channel Nine at the show and what a social driven sneaker party convention this turned out to be. You had collector’s young and old trading, purchasing and selling limited edition sneakers, as well as discussions of their guilty sneaker obsessions.
If you were to ask the Co-Founders of Toronto Loves Kicks what they set out to achieve with United We Sole they would say for a buy, sell and trade socially driven Sneaker Expo which will attract all walks of life, art and culture which is a direct reflection of our City uniting everyone's sole in the process. It's important to us to have everyone step with a positive sneaker forward in order for our City to grow as one.

ACNE 2012 Spring/Summer Men Fashion Collection
New from Swedish design conglomerate ACNE – which, by the way, stands for “Ambition to Create Novel Expressions” and is not a reference to an unfortunate dermatological condition – comes this video of their 2012 Spring/Summer runway show.
Featuring a color palette of navy, blush pinks, earth-toned browns and greens, the collection on display here is a definitively slouchy, laid-back take on more classically formal pieces including shawl-collared blazers, sport jackets, tailored trousers and knitwear.
Paired with colorful loafers and leather gladiator sandals, the latest ACNE line is expectedly quirky yet supremely wearable (especially without the gladiator sandals).

Who said cool, innovative videos didn't exist any longer? My best buddy Ryan showed me this video and I was actually in awe. I heard the DYLAN video has been out for a while now (a year even garnering a nomination at the Grammy's for Best Short Form Music Video), but last night was the first time I saw it. Of course I had to share it with my blog readers because this is your one-stop place for everything DYLAN!! Call me belated but this is definitely something worth seeing!!
Her Morning Elegance has become a pop-art phenomena and the most successful stop motion video ever.
It earned a nomination in the 52nd Grammy Awards and has been screened at film festivals around the world. The video was created from 2096 still photographs that were shot and sequenced to create the sense of movement.
The lyrics of the song are quite simple but the message is definitely presented in the very cool music video which serves as nothing share of attention gripping. A bed serves as the setting for an entire journey through life and a relationship. Carefully placed pillows and socks serve as not on rocks, but also clouds and fishes respectively.

Harem pants have been a staple in any fashionable wardrobe for many seasons now!
At present the majority of people you will see wearing harem pants out and about are women but don’t let that put you off if you are a man and would like to give them a try. In Europe they are very common…
There arent that many harem pants for men available at the moment but if you really want to get in there early and be a trend setter you can always do what you did before skinny jeans for men became popular and wear a women’s pair of harem pants.
Harem pants can be low-crotch, mid-crotch, and there’s the really, really low-crotch. And don’t worry about pulling it off even if you’re short, there’s always the right pair of harem pants for you. Just pair your harem pants with form-fitting tops or an edgy military jacket and you’re all set.
I thought I would include an updated selection of drop crotch shorts and trousers that you can get your hands on already. Enjoy !!!

Cloud 10 Status: Forever 21 Is Coming to Ottawa
So I just got paid and I really had to suppress my inner hoodrat from gallivanting and doing HOOD RAT things, but I still engaged in some retail therapy at the Rideau Center anyway; as I made my way through I saw a HUGE line-up with a sign saying INTERVIEWS TODAY! I walk closer and realize that Forever 21 is opening on the first floor of the Rideau Center! I've been wondering for a while what they were going to replace the old 2nd Food Court with.
The store will comprise two levels encompassing 16, 000 square feet, complete with an in-store escalator. There will be three entrances: one on the first floor, one on the second floor, and direct entry from Rideau Street.
Forever 21 is a junior ladies’ retailer known for its “ripped-from-the-runway” fashion. Like competitors Zara and H&M, Forever 21 sells low-cost clothing that it produces quickly enough to keep up to date with runway fashion trends.
Although Forever 21 predominantly focuses on ladies clothing, it also carries a large accessories line, shoes, and some menswear. The U.S.-based company’s Canadian flagship store opened in Toronto about three years ago, and the chain has been rapidly expanding ever since.
Why does this matter, well for me I could not muster up a fully functioning F**K if I tried my hardest and wished upon a star. Ironically I just learned today that Forever 21 sells clothing for men too..:/ but I decided I would share this news with all the adoring Forever 21 fans out there. Although MOST (Read: ALL OF YOU) are way past 21 I guess since you love the store so much its only fair to share the good news!
OH AND THEY'RE HIRING!! GO OUT TODAY IF YOU HAVE SOME TIME!!

Another Grey sneaker release: AM1 "Wolf Grey"
Nike is really taking this whole "grey" trend to the next level. The next release in this grey line up is the Air Max 1 "wolf grey". I don't really have a problem with the shoe or the color. These are clean and are right up my alley but I'm frankly tired of all these "cool grey" or "wolf grey" releases. Can we name it something else?! Between this grey and "South Beach" colorways I guarantee these two will be beat to death by the end of the year.
