Crazy Lights live up to billing

I got my Crazy Lights last week and finally got to ball in them tonight. I've been balling all week, but outdoors, and these babies aren't up for that. (The outsole would be smooth way too quick; I'm worried about that even indoors.) SO...I waited. Tonight it was worth the wait! Here are my initial thoughts...

• Great fit for my narrow feet. Really comfortable on the 1st wear.
• The gym was almost 100 degrees and my feet weren't hot. Super ventilation.
• The lightness did make me feel quicker. I definitely had more steals and fast breaks than usual!
  
• They squeak! A lot. But you get used to it.
  
• I do want to try the sturdier insoles. I forgot to bring them along, and at times I felt I could have used more cushioning.
• And as a sneaker fiend as well as a ball player, I did love all the compliments I got on them! They look GOOD.
• My team won.

Adidas really has been stepping up their game lately in their lifestyle department. These new ZX 8000s that just dropped are the business! The black,yellow and teal colorway is a great combo and screams spring. These are def getting added to my cop list. These are available at your local retailer and Schuh-You

Cloud 10 Status: Adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott - "Fire"

Jeremy Scott's storied collaboration with Adidas has produced some hits and misses!  This one is no different depending on your taste I guess.  I wouldn't rock these but I could see a couple people I know rocking these bad boys. These shoes are literally FIYAH, featuring Hot Wheels like flames shooting into all your haters watching you walk by!!  The rest of the sneaker features a yellow and orange colorway.  Interesting to say the least!!

Cloud 9 Status (Whisky Tango Foxtrot) |WTF|: Jeremy Scott x Adidas - Penguin Sneaker

Sigh, Jeremy Scott, Jeremy, Jeremy I don't know what to do when I view this guy's fashion sense sometimes.  Should I be in awe at its ingenuity or should I hang my head in embarrassment at the tackiness?  These 'interesting' Penguin sneakers that are being released as part of the F/W 2010 adidas Originals by Originals line are just ________ (insert descriptive noun). Let's just talk about the specifics of what Scott was trying to achieve here.  Obviously these shoes an ode to the tuxedo.  The upper is made of mesh, leather and patent leather.  I mean I see the vision and its a nicely designed sneaker I just don't care too much for the tuxedo portion of it...

Damn the Adidas collaboration with Jeremy Scott always guarantees some interesting pieces season after season.  This particular piece is a sports zip up combined with a sexy corset.  Looks like Sporty Spice finally decided to change up her look a little bit.

Adidas Nizza Hi Zip Pack

Much like A the Great, I haven't really been feelin' many of the spring sneaker releases and it's bumming me out to be honest. However, I do think the new Adidas Nizza kicks are definitely cop-able.  This season's pack comes in 4 colour-ways and a backdoor zipper. I've never owned a pair with a heel zipper but I do have sandals with them and man, the convenience of it all! Out of red, black, navy and olive I would roll with olive for sure since I'm really into grey lately and that would be the closest match. I just called the Adidas Originals store in Toronto and they haven't had any word on release dates but stay tuned!

 What do you think? Dope or nope?

adidas TS-Ace Commander Candace Parker Kicks

Player Edition

Well, they're finally here. After harassing adidas for almost 2 years to get some Candace Parker kicks out (why sign her and not make commercially available kicks for her in the year she wins, um, EVERYTHING??), I can't say they're worth the wait.

Commercial Edition

My complaints, in no particular order:

1) The sparks are fruity.
2) The paint splotches are silly.
3) The commercial issue has less obvious sparks (nice), but no true tip-of-the-hat to Ace either. (The player edition has Ace3 stitched on the side.)
4) The commercial issue has quite a random colorway. I'm pleased that adidas didn't think they had to go pink on us, but where did this come from? Not Sparks colors, not Tennessee colors... Maybe these match her uni overseas??
5) The size run is extremely low: women's sizes 8-10.5, and 12, on the adidas site. So girls and young women with small feet can't even buy them!

And now they're gonna blame Candace and women's basketball if they don't sell out!



On the upside, they have an adiprene, eva and climacool technology in the sole.

Cloud 10 Status: Adidas SLVR S/S 2010

This is one of the best things I have seen all week from the sick asymmetrical jacket $148(a personal favorite of mine) to the backpack and hi-top sneakers minimalist enthusiast will rave at Adidas SLVR's latest line. In case you didn't know the SLVR line is Adidas' mid-range that specializes in lightweight, breathable clothing with a minimalist flair it is slightly below their Y-3 brand (which they collaborate on with Yohji Yamamoto) but SLVR is doing it big this upcoming summer.
