Ulrik Martin Larsen for the second time at FASHIONCLASH Maastricht

CHOREOGRAPHED- sketch
What is your name? Ulrik Martin Larsen

What is the name of your label? Ulrik Martin Larsen

Where did you study and when did you graduate? At the Danish Design School, graduated in 2008 and currently I’m a PhD student in Fashion at the Swedish School of Textiles

What inspires you as a designer? I would rather answer what drives me as a designer, I´m driven by and interested in ideas, and how to accomplish, realize, visualize and communicate those.

Who is your favorite designer? Why? There are a number of people I admirer for different reasons…no one mentioned, no one forgotten…

What can you bring to FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2011 Could you also tell us how do you recall the last edition of the event, since to took part in it as well? Any surprises? What did you learn maybe? This year I will bring a series of films that deal with the ritual of getting dressed or undressed and how to elevate and challenge this familiar action through performance and choreography/movement. I am collaborating with dancers from the Royal Danish Ballet and the talented filmmaker Dimitris Vulalas. The working title of the project is: THE CHOREOGRAPHED GARMENT.

I was fortunate enough to participate in FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2010, and I was really impressed with the professionalism and quality level of the event. The location was spectacular and I met a lot of interesting people who work in the same field.

CHOERORAPHED -sketch
What do you expect from the FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2011? I expect to see a great selection of designers and artists and to discover the work of established people but also new unseen talents. The combination of exhibitions and fashion shows is great.

How did your experience with fashion started? When did you decide to be a (fashion) designer? I decided to be a designer many years ago, I have always enjoyed creating and making things and somehow fashion seemed to connect to a lot of different areas that hold my interest.

I believe that interesting fashion only exists if there is a certain degree of artistry involved and ”good” art in my opinion includes a level of craftsmanship. I don´t need to put a label on my profession but I aspire to include aspects of craftsmanship and artistry in my work.

What are your goals concerning your career? What are your ambitions? Where do you see yourself in the future? I hope be able to show my work in different contexts, continue my collaborations and develop my research into new methods, processes and expressions that hopefully will be a valid contribution to fashion/art…and last but not least to have fun while doing it!

GUESS proves that quantity does not necessarily diminish quality. They are showing a huge selection of men’s denim for Spring 2011, and every single piece is manufactured with special attention to details.
GUESS offers the right pair of jeans for almost every body type and is not limiting itself just to slim or straight or baggy looks, but has a loads “in between” styles as well.
The same applies to their wide range of washes and fabrics, which go from selvedge to bleached-out destructed and gray shades.

Guess By Marciano SpringThe Timeless Era Fashion is back, it is something you just can't describe or it's something that never goes out of style and it's like a fresh summer breeze...in this ever so relaxing sound of the beach waves hitting the sand, it's music to the ears...

These photos are from The 2011 Marciano Spring Campaign. Take notes, because these styles catch a lot of attention...

For it being a men's fashion 2011 ad campaign, the design comes with a interesting tie, that I'm sure you can figure out a way to match this similar piece...

Romanian model,Silviu Tolu in GUESS Spring-Summer 2011 worldwide campaign, still by legendary photographer Ellen von Unwerth, art director: Paul Marciano.

The lines that are around the buttons give this design a timeless look, the camera is just for effect, the sweater and mini-striped shirt are the center-pieces of this work of art.

A very solid black suit piece, with a light colored handkerchief. The look is
extremely intimidating to the eye, but then again who wants a push over for a man?...

Finding shorts like these will be hard but not near impossible, since it has no belt support, maybe the belt is stitched to the boxers.
Overall you can see how eye catching this design really is...Very, very nice!

The Guess by Marciano Spring Summer 2011 collection for him proposes a lifestyle where utility and luxury are bound together in an almost imperceptible manner.

Contemporary - Spring has arrived, the city is bustling, full of energy and activity. Colors, materials and details move in perfect harmony giving us a man that wears a city look characterized by dynamic and rigorous linearity and a sober style that never fails to leave its mark. Suits and pants come in a variety of fits, from the most modern and figure-hugging to more classic shapes.

Urban - Practicality and daily needs unite to create a truly urban, casual look for him. Cuts are new and fits geared towards comfort thanks to the use of stretch and natural fibers. Fabrics are light; linen and soft cotton prevail creating unexpected fluidity for pleasure and leisure on midsummer days.

Summer Glow - A poolside is the setting, high on a hill with a view of a magical horizon where in the sky and the sea merge to become one. The atmosphere is sensual and the landscape is fascinating. His wardrobe consists of shirts and light-jersey T-shirts that are almost second skin, while pants in fine cotton drape softly on the figure.                                                                         source
