Cloud 10 Status: For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf

The play written in 1975 by Ntozake Shange is being brought to the big screen by Tyler Perry.  Yes, the same Tyler Perry who has been lampooned by the Boondocks and pretty much every BRAND NEW negro in the black community who dropped on the BASH TYLER PERRY BANDWAGON!  I think this is Tyler's chance at redeeming himself with a majority of the fans who helped to catapult him to the position where he is today.  Tyler Perry showed flashes of his potential with his 'Why Did I Get Married' series and now he has a serious piece of work in front of him that should see him expand his brand and be taken serious as not just a black director but an all-around director capable of producer Oscar nominated films.  I just want to hand everyone out there a frying pan who knocked Tyler Perry aside as a cancer and embarrassment to the black community.  Tyler's shown considerable growth the past few years (he still has a ways to go but he's growing as a screen play writer) and still never forgets his roots.

The movie premiers on November 5th and features an All-Star cast of mainly black actors that on paper alone shows that this film will not be a game at all.  Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Thandie Newton, Janet Jackson, Kerry Washington, Loretta Divine, Anika Noni Rose and Michael Ealy.  The cast will definitely sink their teeth into Shange's play and I am predicting a nice showing when Awards season rolls around. Check the movie trailer below.  You going to see it?
