Sneaker collectors, called "Sneakerheads", use sneakers as fashionable items. Casual sneakers like the Air Force One (Nike) or Superstar (Adidas) have become icons in today's pop culture. Artistically-modified sneakers can sell for upwards of $500.
PRO-Keds are an icon of American sports. From the 1970's, PRO-Keds sneakers were worn by many NBA basketball stars and as such they attained a certain cult status which continues to this day. PRO-Keds are sought after by sneaker collectors worldwide.
