Behind the Scenes @ the NIKE Destroyer Shoot
"On a cold and rainy December day in New York City, a small and eclectic group of people gathered together to take part in a photoshoot for the NIKE Destroyer Project.
The shoot highlights this group as the 'new school' of folks who contribute to the ever-changing landscape of New York, represented by each of them wearing the special black edition Destroyer Varsity."
Photographed by Kai Regan, video by Vashtie. If you're not in the know, get there. Vashtie is an artist, filmmaker and designer. Remember that dope video for US Placers a couple years back? Yup, all her. FSF interviewed her a while back, so learn more about her and her love of kicks here.

S-beezees, Cliff Huxtable styles
He's one of TV's all-time fave Pops. So why not design a Dunk as a throwback to his fully-stocked closet of wild-out sweaters?
These Nike SB "Wool" Dunk Hi Premiums are now available online at Kasina.
"All of you who do not have a job, raise your hands. And while you have your hands up, I want you to look down because for guys who aren't working, I'm seeing expensive sneakers."

BITCH3S...new blog about women in hip hop
I'm not a big fan of the word bitch, but occasionally it is reclaimed by women and put to good use. I like BITCH Magazine, and in fact wrote an FSF story for them once. Now I've found a new use of the word, the blog BITCHES, which stands for Bold Individuals That Challenge Hiphop'crisy En Style. It is a space for girls who represent the five elements of hip-hop culture, and it includes some great interviews about kick ass women in graffiti, hip hop, and more. Check them out...
Welcome Loni & Sonia to the FSF blog team!
We've already posted about Sonia Sanchez, lead blogger for Spain's Zapateca website, adding her 2 cents to our blog, but now we've also roped in Loni Schick, an avid sneakerhead from up north--Saskatchewan, Canada to be exact! Here's what she has to say:
"What's good Fiends? I'm a Photographer/Blogger from Saskatchewan, up in Canada. I gotta thank my boy, Danny O., for igniting my love for the sneak game. These are probably the first wild set I bought. I copped em in LA and got so much love rocking them down the Vegas strip. To me, that's what being a FSF is all about: being comfortable and being able to let everyone know just how dope you are without having to say a word."
Look forward to more worldwide sneaker coverage from FSF!

Change IV a dollar
Today, I came across a photograph that I took exactly 3 years ago, yesterday (12/18/2006). I don't take many photos, but I just so happened to take one yesterday (12/18/2009). I was astonished by my transformation in three years time. It's comforting to know that the transformation from girl to woman is evident on the inside as well as outside.

Houston inspired Jordans release at HOH Chicago!
Houston stand up! Initally created for the Houston House of Hoops grand opening, these 4 pairs of Jordans will travel to Chicago to be released this Saturday at HOH!! The 4 pairs are 2 Retro I’s, a Fusion 4, and a Fusion 13. The white-based Retro I and Fusion 4 have a single star on the heel of the insole like the flags of Houston and Texas, while the Fusion 13 features the nickname of Houston: “Space City.” If kicks are on the list for Christmas, you need to revise to add these!

Grey/Orange Air Max Lebron VII
I am in love with the new Lebron VII's and am anxiously waiting for the Chicago/NYC green/white/gold colorway to drop! Now I have another colorway that I must have! Although it is patent leather, this pair screams sneaker game on point! I imagine not too many people would know how to rock these properly, but dammit I would! These are just a teaser sample from designer Jason Petrie who must know my flavor because these are so hot! Hopefully 2010 will bless us with this colorway!

Revive x Amongst Friends
To kick off the Grand Opening of the new Revive location, Amongst Friends and Revive have collaborated on this New Era fitted hat and Web Belt. The New Era features a gold metallic thread outline that encases a red and green silk appliqued AF logo. Choosing Shoes
Author: Joe Denver
Confused about shoes and what to wear? Can’t decide which shoes will suit you or the occasion? Wish you were among the percentage of society with great fashion sense that knows exactly what looks good? Or maybe you’re one of the chosen few that look amazing in whatever you wear. There are so many kinds of shoe to choose from, heels, stilettos, flats, courts, boots or wedges. Shoes are a very personal choice and each shoe is made with a specific purpose in mind. Companies have flagship shoes and become famed for selling a specific model. They also offer a host of different materials and styles.
There are people who will say they can tell us about a celebrity by looking at the shoes they wear. Is this true or just fluff and nonsense? Shoes define our fashion sense. They are a fashion item and you can usually tell by looking at a shoe which of your friends would wear it and which friends would not be seen dead in it! Are you a bargain shoe person? Or are you a designer shoe at a bargain price person? Or maybe you are a comfortable shoe person? You know what occasion you’re buying the shoes for. So you’ll know what kind of shoes you need but now you have to decide which type of sandal you want a flat sandal, low sandal, high heeled sandal? If you’re buying boots do you want calf length, mid calf or ankle? And what height of heel do you want? Everyday shoes are never a problem because you’ll have developed your own style and preference. The problems start when you’ve got an occasion, are going on holiday or starting a new job. It would be helpful if you could catch a glimpse into the future to let you know what you are going to need! There is nothing worse than arriving on holiday to find you’ve packed a high heeled sandal and everyone is walking round in flats!
We all have a selection of shoes in our wardrobe, courts, wedges, sandals, flats, flip flops and boots. We have shoes for every occasion apart from that one occasion that we need them for!!
